The Roero: Hills made for wine

The Roero spreads its beautiful land on the left bank of Tanaro River near Alba. The Langhe, which take part of Roero Land offers a series of marvelous Castles and superb vineyards. It is a dynamic lively land made of wine. Nebbiolo wine is mentioned in documents in Canale, dating back to 1303; Arneis wine was a place name backing the 15th century; Favorite wine is mentioned from 1676 in the prestigious cellars of the counts Roero of Vezza and Guarene. Agostino Della Chiesa depicted the Roero Hills as "full of gardens with all sort of fruit and production of best wines you can drink in Piedmont". Best wine production are Barbera, Bonarda and Brachetto. Among all different delights which Roero Land offers, we can mention the peach from Canale, and the pears from Vezza d'Alba. Don't forget the strawberries of Sommariva Perno. Endless resources of this land are chestnuts trees, a source of income and ingredient of numerous recipes; exquisite mushrooms and the truffle, sovereign of Roero cuisine in Autumn. Among Roero Doc Wines, let's mention Nebbiolo, a tradition of Roero Hills. It's the wine of important moments of life. We find it among the most aristocratic wines all over the World
